A small, uniquely shaped entrance lobby on the 2nd floor of the Owings Mills Gymnasium was transformed into the Dick Watts Athletics Hall of Fame. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the start of the Universities NCAA Division III athletics program, the space allows for multitude of uses including Gameday viewing, Leadership Receptions and Stevenson University Hall of Fame and Athletics promotions. In order for an inductee to be included in the Hall of Fame, they are judged on the University’s four core values which consist of excellence, integrity, community and learning in addition to the excellence they have brought upon themselves and the University.
The Hall of Fame features 24 flat panel monitors to allow for the display of live video, recorded athletic events and individual team information displays. A specific design and installation of the ceiling slats provided a softening of the space with an added improvement to the acoustics. Visitors are greeted with a touch-screen monitor which allows them to easily research and enjoy the history of Athletics at Stevenson.
