President Hoover, an avid fly-fisherman, established a fishing retreat deep in the Shenandoah Mountains along Rapidan Creek and so established the modern Presidential “Summer White House.” Exhibits for his restored camp, located seven miles from the nearest Park facilities and unprotected from the elements, required extremely durable materials and fabrication methods. Marketechs as an IDIQ exhibits contractor executed plans provided by the Park Service’s IDIQ design staff. The scope of work included electrical and wiring upgrades, cabin lighting, interior painting and exterior interactive components in addition to interior casework, audio interactives, artifact mounts and graphics.
